Refining DREAMSCAPES II in Dolby Atmos with Eric Horstmann

The day after the German Songwriting Awards, the journey continued in the best possible way: back into the studio.

On Saturday, I spent the whole day at Immersive Lab Studio with Eric Horstmann, working on the Dolby Atmos mixes for my upcoming album DREAMSCAPES II. After an inspiring evening in Berlin, it felt like the perfect continuation — from celebration and conversation straight back into deep creative work.

These studio days are always special to me, because they are about more than technical decisions. They are about shaping space, emotion, and detail in ways that support the music on a deeper level. With DREAMSCAPES II, that immersive dimension is a very important part of the listening experience, so it was a real pleasure to spend this time refining the Atmos mixes together.

Working with Eric is always inspiring. He is one of the most experienced Dolby Atmos mixers in the scene, and what I value most is not only his technical skill but also his musical understanding. He listens closely, thinks in emotion as much as in sound, and always keeps the essence of the music in focus.

We used the session to fine-tune key details, deepen the album’s immersive character, and ensure every movement, texture, and atmosphere supports the emotional world of the music.

There was also something especially meaningful about working with Eric right after the award event, since he won the German Songwriting Award for Best Dolby Atmos Mix last year.

For me, DREAMSCAPES II is becoming an album of depth, atmosphere, and emotional nuance, and sessions like this are a big part of that.

I left the studio full of ideas and even more excited about what this album is becoming.
