Celebrating 1 Million Streams of One Vision!

What an incredible milestone! Since the release of One Vision on February 23, 2024, our album has garnered over 1 million streams on Spotify. This journey has been beyond rewarding, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has listened. Each stream means the world to us.

To celebrate, Adrián Marquez (Oine) and I reflected on the creation of One Vision and our experiences during this project. We thought it would be fun to share some insights in the form of an interview.

Thank you again for being part of this journey. Here’s the interview:

Thomas asked Adrián:

What makes One Vision special to you?

One Vision is the first major musical project I’ve undertaken in my life. Typically, I release singles or EPs with fewer than five tracks, but working on an album was a completely different experience. You have to manage so many aspects simultaneously. For me, it was a journey of growth. What I love about One Vision is that each track belongs to a different genre, yet the album holds a sense of cohesion throughout.

How was your first experience listening to the album in Dolby Atmos in Berlin?

It was an amazing yet slightly disorienting experience because I could visualize how to compose and mix music in Dolby Atmos. When I returned to my studio and went back to stereo, it felt like something was missing. I highly recommend that all producers and musicians try having a song or album mixed in Dolby Atmos. It changes your entire perspective on space and dimension.

What’s your favorite track on the album?

Confidence is also my favorite, though every track holds something special for me. The album as a whole feels cohesive, and I still enjoy listening to it and appreciating the placement of each track. It may sound strange since I worked on it, but I’m really proud of this album.

What surprised you most about the collaboration?

What surprised me the most was how quickly Thomas and I connected. We felt confident in each other’s musical approach, and even when we disagreed, we always resolved our differences constructively, leading to better results. I also value Thomas’ industry experience and his ideas on managing a large project like this.

Do you have any idea how many hours were spent on the album?

I honestly don’t have a clear number. We started in April 2022 and finished production in June 2023, and I was fully dedicated to the album during that time. I like to joke that it probably took thousands of hours, but those hours flew by for me.

Adrián asked Thomas:

What’s your favorite track and why?

That’s a tough one because I love all the tracks. Confidence stands out for me, but Faith was a particularly powerful experience, especially in Dolby Atmos. It’s hard to choose just one because they all hold a special place in my heart. The album really shines as a complete experience.

What was the best and worst part of collaborating with me?

I absolutely loved working with you on One Vision. Your production style is so different from mine, and that contrast constantly surprised me in the best way. Honestly, there was no “worst” part—the process was smooth from start to finish. I’m looking forward to starting new projects with you!

What was the most difficult track to produce?

There wasn’t any particular track that caused major issues, but creative differences were a natural part of refining the songs to their best versions. I remember that Maybe, which we worked on with ROO J, was challenging at first in terms of finding the right direction. But the effort was worth it because the final result is a beautiful track.

How did you feel at the Genelec Experience Center, and how was it meeting me in person?

It was incredible! Meeting you felt like reconnecting with an old friend, even though it was our first time face-to-face. The Dolby Atmos listening experience at the Genelec Experience Center was mind-blowing, thanks to Eric Horstmann’s excellent mixing. I was also amazed by how many people attended and how positive the feedback was.

Do you have any advice for musicians taking on big projects like creating an album?

Absolutely—have a clear vision for your project and keep pushing forward, especially during times when inspiration feels scarce. Creativity often comes while you’re working, so don’t wait for ideas to strike. Keep moving forward, trust your vision, and remember how rewarding it will feel once the project is complete.
