The Story Behind “Innocent”

Together with Sinatic, I’ve released our new single “Innocent” — a new interpretation of the Mike Oldfield song, reimagined in an atmospheric, emotional, and cinematic style.

A song with a special emotional pull

With its warm textures, spacious production, and gentle sense of longing, Innocent blends ambient depth with modern electronic emotion. Originally written by Mike Oldfield, the song gave Sinatic and me the opportunity to reimagine a beautiful piece in our own atmospheric and cinematic way. Rather than simply recreating the original, this version opens up a new sonic world while staying true to the emotional core that made the song so memorable in the first place.

When the music already suggests its own images

From the beginning, Innocent felt like a track that carried strong images. There is a quiet beauty in the song, along with a sense of space and movement that naturally invites a visual world. That became an important part of this release: not just presenting a cover version, but creating a complete atmosphere in which sound and imagery belong together.

The official music video

The official music video beautifully reflects that idea. Naemi Joy can be seen singing in the video, bringing intimacy and human presence to the performance. At the center of the visual story, however, is an actress moving through a desert landscape—a setting that perfectly matches the music’s mood and the cover artwork’s aesthetics.

The desert scenes give the video a sense of openness, solitude, and timelessness. Combined with the song’s tenderness, they create a cinematic contrast that feels both emotional and visually striking. It is this connection between sound, image, and atmosphere that gives Innocent its special character.

The music video can also be watched on Apple Music and Spotify.
