Celebrating PULSE, NIGHT TRAVELLERS, and my musical journey with Andreas Bach
Five years ago, on 1 October 2021, Andreas Bach and I released PULSE.
To celebrate its 5th anniversary on 1 October 2026, I’m very happy to finally give the album a physical life on vinyl and CD. And it felt only right to bring its predecessor NIGHT TRAVELLERS along for the journey as well.
Two albums. Two chapters of a long musical friendship — now available as something you can actually hold in your hands.
From NIGHT TRAVELLERS to PULSE
NIGHT TRAVELLERS was our first album together, released in 2019. It established much of what still defines our collaboration: atmospheric electronic music, piano, synthesizers, guitar, and bass, with a strong focus on warmth, detail, and emotion.
Two years later, PULSE expanded that world. The album moves between ambient, downtempo, and electronica and also introduces vocal collaborations with Valeska Rautenberg, Esther Esrah, and Richelle Claiborne.
For me, the title PULSE has always represented more than rhythm. It is about life, energy, and movement.
And five years later, the album still feels very much alive.
Music you can hold
Streaming gives us incredible access to music. But there is still something special about experiencing an album physically.
The large artwork. Taking a record out of its sleeve. Putting it on the turntable. Browsing through the booklet while listening.
Especially with atmospheric music, that slower and more intentional way of listening feels right.
Seeing PULSE and NIGHT TRAVELLERS on vinyl and CD, therefore, means a lot to me. They are not simply physical versions of digital releases — they feel like documents of an important chapter in our lives as musicians.
A collaboration that continues
Andreas and I have continued making music together ever since. What makes our collaboration work is the contrast between us: ideas move back and forth, change, and inspire something new.
Andreas once described this beautifully as “ping-pong creativity.”
That creative exchange is still at the heart of the music we make together today.
